Hong Kong Budget Summary 2025/26

Hong Kong Budget Summary 2025/26

The Financial Secretary Hon. Paul MP Chan presented the 2025/26 Budget on 26 February 2025 setting out the economic outlook for Hong Kong.

Over the past year, Hong Kong has experienced economic growth, stable employment, and moderate inflation, alongside successful efforts to attract talent and increase visitor arrivals. However, challenges persist, including geopolitical disruptions and high-interest rates affecting asset prices. To address fiscal deficits, a "reinforced version" of the fiscal consolidation programme is proposed, targeting a seven per cent reduction in government recurrent expenditure by 2027-28 while preserving essential public services.

This year's budget includes measures to reduce public spending and enhance revenues to tackle the deficit. Read our Budget Summary here to learn how it may impact you and your business.
